Join us for York’s first Girl Geek Dinner
Our first ever Girl Geek event will be taking place in the beautiful Grays Court Rooms in the centre of York. If you are working in- or studying- technology (or you think that you might like to) then join us for an informal and inspiring evening.
Girl Geek: Someone who is female and has an interest in technology, particularly innovation, computing and new media. Not necessarily technically minded.

Mary Vincent (@MaryVincent) is the Founder and CEO of Green Star Solution, a Global Business, Technology, and Innovation Firm. She also runs a Clean Tech and Green Business News blog: http://ecoprotection.blogspot.com/ Mary is based near San Francisco and is coming to the UK to talk in a number of locations as part of the 'Inspiring Women' project which is jointly run by Girl Geek Dinners Leeds and Girl Geek Scotland.
Local Speaker
Our second speaker will none other than our very own local girl geek, Helen Harrop (@iamhelenharrop). Helen will be taking us back in time to share her journey into creativity, computers and general geekiness, in a talk entitled 'How I learnt to love numbers'. Helen works for Sero Consulting on a variety of projects, including Digital 20/20. She is also a visual artist who is mildly obsessed by creativity, doodling and beautifully designed teaspoons.
For the small fee of £10 we will provide the food, wine and speakers, just come along to meet interesting people, listen to inspirational speakers and hang out with fellow girl geeks. And yes, boy geeks are very welcome to join us - you just need to be invited by a girl geek.
